BCCI sacks Virat Kohli, Ravi Shastri for discipline breaches
India skipper Virat Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri have been under the scanner ever since Team India failed to lift the 2019 World Cup in England despite a dominant start.
Fans have often slammed Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri for showing favouritism and want the board to explore new leadership options ahead of the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand and ICC T20 World Cup on home soil later this year.
While Virat Kohli’s exploits with the willow are unparalleled, his impulsive and over aggressive captaincy has been subject to criticism from fans, as well as the cricketing fraternity. Furthermore, Kohli has also been deemed way too mercurial to lead the Test side, despite his excellent record.
According to the reports, the BCCI has taken the decision on disciplinary, as well as tactical grounds. Though India recently defeated England in the five-match T20I and three-match ODI series, they were far from being convincing, especially in the bowling department.
