Mumbai Saga dips further at the box office
The John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi starrer did witness a big jump on its 1st Sunday, but that's looking like more and more like an aberration with each passing day.
Mumbai Saga has seen a bit of growth on day 9, its second Saturday, but overall, its second weekend at the box office seems stuck in limbo, with the collections going nowhere. The John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi starrer did witness a big jump on its first Sunday, but that's looking like more and more like an aberration with each passing day. The lukewarm beginning, coupled with disappointing holds over the first week after the Sunday haul, and now, as per our well-placed source in the trade, low numbers on both its second Friday (day 8) and Saturday (a measely Rs. 85 lakh nett on day 9), has brought hitherto the total of Mumbai Saga to just Rs. 15.03 crore nett after nine days at the box office.
Even after considering COVID-19 restrictions, lockdown in certain territories in Maharashtra, Delhi NCR and East Punjab, and night curfews in more than a few areas, the Sanjay Gupta directorial has still underperformed at the box office according to our source, who informs that Mumbai Saga should have till date collected at least 25% more despite all the hurdles, especially considering how Roohi, with a smaller budget and cast performed during the same phase. Check out the day-wise box office collection of Mumbai Saga below:
Mumbai Saga day-wise breakup:
Day 1 (Friday): Rs. 2.82 crore nett
Day 2 (Saturday): Rs. 2.40 crore nett
Day 3 (Sunday): Rs. 3.52 crore nett
Day 4 (Monday): Rs. 1.49 crore nett
Day 5 (Tuesday): Rs. 1.47 crore nett
Day 6 (Wednesday): Rs. 90 lakh nett
Day 7 (Thursday): Rs. 83 lakh nett
Day 8 (2nd Friday): Rs. 75 lakh nett
Day 9 (2nd Saturday): Rs. 85 lakh nett
Total (9 days): Rs. 15.03 crore nett
At this rate, Mumba Saga is going to end up with a lifetime collection at the box office somewhere in the 16-17 crore nett range, decisively below what Roohi had registered.
